(1) - Public key
Before using the system, it is necessary to install on the device the public OSNMA key. OSNMA compatible devices should be able to install, update and store the certified public key provided by the system.
Certiflight is based on the OSNMA message authentication service provided by Galileo.
OSNMA stands for Open Service Navigation Service Authentication. It is an integral function of the Galileo Open Service providing data authentication to all enabled receivers such as the Certiflight UTM box.
OSNMA uses a cryptographic protocol called TESLA (Timed-Efficient Stream Loss-Tolerant Authentication) for optimal transmission through Galileo, using fields of the E1 I/NAV message that were reserved for this purpose.
